Louis Tipper heading to Orange-Rood Netherlands for the England U18 Euros. Here is his story so far….
Louis joined Sevenoaks Hockey Club aged 15, having previously played for Kent and Tunbridge Wells HC.
He was part of the U16 team that won the Mercian League finals in 2017 in which he was named ‘Player of the Tournament’ and also made his Men’s Premier League debut that season, scoring his first goal for the 1s in the crucial playoff final game against University of Nottingham in a win that ensured we stayed in the Premier League.
Later that summer of 2018 he was selected to play in the England Hockey U18s Futures Cup where he captained the Saxon Tigers to victory in the tournament and as was top scorer and named ‘Player of the Tournament’.
As a result of the Futures Cup success, he was selected for the provisional England U18 squad last September. Unfortunately he sustained an injury playing in the Premier league last November and was out for four months so sadly missed most of the league season.
He returned to the pitch in late March in time to rejoin the England squad and has now played 9 times for the national side in matches against Holland, Scotland, Germany and now Belgium.
He’s in the 18 man squad that travels to the European Championships on Friday. He is England’s vice-captain.
