Sevenoaks HC win European Club of the Year

Sevenoaks Hockey Club won the coveted England Hockey Club of the Season award 2016 at the England Hockey Awards Dinner on Saturday night. A truly fantastic achievement in achieving a unique double, coming so soon after the club secured the European Club of the Season trophy.

Sevenoaks’ kit is supplied by Grays, in conjunction with Bat and Ball Sports. Grays Sales & Marketing Director Richard Gray was privileged to be a guest of the club at the Awards and was delighted to pass on warmest congratulations from everyone at Grays to Sevenoaks Club Captain, Richard Young and the all club members present.

Jacky Hudson – Unsung Hero nominee and part of Sevenoaks HC – commented on receipt of the award: ‘I feel completely over whelmed, as a club we are just amazingly overjoyed. We have got a lot of amazing people who have put a lot of work in and are so committed to the family atmosphere of the whole club. This is amazing for our club and we couldn’t be prouder.

The Hockey Club shares the pavilion with the Sevenoaks Vine Cricket Club, one of the oldest Cricket Clubs in the world dating back to 1734. The Hockey club itself was formed in 1911.

Set in the heart of Sevenoaks, albeit only 30 miles from the centre of London, the clubhouse enjoys a magnificent setting overlooking the Vine.
Sevenoaks Hockey Club consists of 11 regular Saturday Men’s sides, of which 3 teams are Veterans, and 1 is a youth development squad and 8 regular Saturday Ladies teams, of which 1 is a youth development team. We also run a large and thriving Junior section, details which can be found under the ‘Juniors’ page.

All our top sides play National League hockey, with our Ladies and Men’s Outdoor teams in the EHL Conference East and our Ladies’ and Men’s sides in the Indoor Hockey 5’s Championship (Men in the Premier Division).
