U12 and U14 so close to National Titles…if it wasn’t for Surbiton. ;)

It was an amazing performance for both our U12 and U14 girls last weekend as both played  at the National championships.

The U12’s were in Nottingham hoping to retain their title from last year. It was an impressive performance in their group stages winning all their games. However a tough game agst Surbiton saw the final go to flicks where their GK pulled off a great save to win the game for them. It was heartbreaking but everyone one of the girls should be so proud of themselves and are the best second team in the country for their age group.

The U14 were at Lee Valley on the Sunday and came through their pool matches to reach the final – again meeting Surbiton. Surbiton scored first and as Oaks were pushing for the equaliser, Surbiton got a second. Oaks took off the GK and used a kicking back, which led to a goal back through Annabel Cheveley. Unf the time on the clock was agst us and Surbiton won the game 2-1.

It was a fantastic achievement for this group of girls to come away with the silver medal and as the second best team in the country.  It is the first time that this age group has won silver so a fantastic result.

A massive thanks to all the coaches, managers and parents for their hard work and wonderful support.

Here is to next year…You have the Summer to recover!
