Sevenoaks Hockey Club was saddened to hear of the passing of Bill Perry

We are very sorry to advise that Bill Perry died on Friday 4th October. Bill was a long-standing member of the Hockey Club, as a goalkeeper, umpire and umpiring coordinator. He also served as Honorary Secretary of the Vine Club. He continued to take a keen interest in the Club’s progress after retiring from these roles and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

We are flying the Club’s flag at half-mast today and teams at Hollybush Lane are observing a minute’s silence as a mark of respect.

Bill’s family have asked us to pass on the following message:

Bill Perry died peacefully aged 88 after a short illness on Friday 4 October. His funeral will be at 12.00 midday on Friday 18 October at the Tunbridge Wells Crematorium, followed by a wake at the Vine Pavilion from 2.00pm.

The Hockey Club was a big part of Bill’s life and your kindness towards him means a lot to him and now to us his family. We would love to see you either at the funeral or the wake or both.

With warmest wishes and many thanks,

Matthew, Susannah and Charlotte
