With the golden success of the u12 Kent Cup last March, the current U13 Sevenoaks girls continued to train at every opportunity throughout the summer period when permitted. The girls were denied the opportunity to compete at the Regional and potentially National Championships due to COVID-19. Despite this, throughout the summer, this aspiring group of young girls took advantage of every training opportunity available, whether 1:1 or small group coaching from the talented Sevenoaks HC Coaches, led by Ian Haley.

In August and October 20 u12 & u13 SHC girls attended the First phase of the England Hockey Pathway at a 2 day camp at Tonbridge School, which was led by 5 international players. Hard work and determination resulted in 10 of the U13 girls reaching the final phase of Kent selection this season. Final Assessments were due to take place Saturday/Sunday 16th/17th January, yet again they may be denied the opportunity to progress further in their hockey path this season if not rearranged, (all due to Covid -19). However no doubt their perseverance, positivity and commitment to the sport will be displayed over the coming seasons. Exciting journeys lie ahead for each of these ambitious girls and many more in our Purple Army.
