The first month of the season has flown by.
Club Day was a successful day, when all the senior members of the club and many juniors starting their senior hockey journeys played alongside each other. The Ladies' 7s and Men's 8s organised a fabulous Hawaiian Luau social in the evening.
The Ladies' 1s opened their league campaign in the new Investec Division One South with an impressive 2-1 victory over Helen Richardson-Walsh's Cambridge City at Hollybush Lane. They are keen for another big crowd at their next home game on Saturday 12 October at 5pm, for their local derby against Canterbury.
The Men's 1s didn't fare so well in their first Division One South league match, going down 0-1 to Team Bath Buccaneers on the road, but are keen to make amends next week at Hollybush Lane when they play Oxted on Sunday 6 October at 2pm.
The Juniors have had a great start to the season with an Olympic Park visit and the chance to meet Olympic gold medallist Sophie Bray. We have also celebrated the exciting news that Lewis Wilcher, Ryana Macdonald-Gay, Tilly Strand-Ford and Venetia Barker have been taken through to the next stage of NAGS (England U18 and U16) selection and will attend the next assessment camp at half term.
The Fantasy League has started - make sure you get signed up!
The social calendar for the year is now in the club's online diary. The next social is Oktoberfest on Saturday 26 October! Get your outfits ready and join the whole club for this great annual event!
We say a big thank you to our Club sponsors, especially headline sponsors Rencraft and Knocker and Foskett.
Ali Taylor's sponsor, his alma mater New Beacon School, have an upcoming Charity Dinner with David Gower and Chris Cowdrey. Tickets can be booked online.
