Sunshine on a rainy day!

The sun did indeed shine on our game. We were prepared for a wet and windy 70 mins but the sun shone on us all game. A strong and positive game played by the team this week. Pace and passing was shown throughout and 3 goals put away and many more so close.

In the first half our younger players made a great impression on the game, some wonderful runs and taking on players with lots going on in the oppositions D. It wasn't until a short corner that Grace put the ball top D to Annelize who with her calmness took the ball to the side and struck at goal, slipping it into the right corner making it 1-0.

Going into the second half we didn't want to change a thing. Very positive attitudes and fighting spirit took us forward. After only 5 minutes a well worked bit of play saw Juliette and Sarah taking the ball up the pitch with a combination of one two passing, Sarah making the shot which just went wide but kept on by Annelize passing to Grace who took the shot, hitting the post but picked up again by Sarah who put it in the back on the net, 2-0.

The 3rd goal was a fight in the D after a shot was saved and the keeper had the ball under her feet. Lou managed to get in there and rob the ball to put it away.

We had great support from junior parents and Michelle managing on the side line. The whole team from Zofia in goal, defenders staying strong and good runs from players in the middle to forwards meant that we took the game under our control most of the time. Well done to Joanna Bulley for her first game with us.

This weeks votes for Player of the Match went to Fay, Leanne, Annelize, Joanna, with Juliette getting 4 and our POM for today went to Sarah Curling with 6 votes. Somehow Bully (aka Me) managed to pick up Donkey for a green card. What can I say after my half time speech to play the game and keep comments to yourself, I need to listen to myself!!!

Well done Super 6's and heres hoping we will be back playing hockey again soon!
