Member Contribution Programme 3 of 7

3. Frequently Asked Questions

Got a question about the Member Contribution Programme? You're not the only one.
We know this is something new, and new things usually come with questions. Whether you're not quite sure what counts as a contribution, or you want to check how the opt-out works — this is the place.

To start with, we’ve included a few of the most common questions we’ve had in conversations and on the sidelines. As more come in, we’ll keep this page updated.

Questions so far:
❓ Who does the MCP apply to?
A: The Member Contribution Programme applies to all families with junior players in the Under 12 to Under 16 age groups within a season. Families with players in other age groups are welcome to take part, and it’s not expected.

❓ What if I don’t have any free time?
A: Totally fine. That’s exactly why we’ve included Option 3 — where you can opt out of giving time and instead pay a small annual premium (£80). This helps fund support essential to running the junior programme.

❓ I’ve never played hockey in my life. I’d love to help, but I’m not sure I’d feel qualified, I might be more of a hindrance than a help.
A: Not at all! We totally understand the worry, and honestly, many of the roles we need help with don’t require any hockey knowledge at all.

In fact, some of our most important support roles just need willing hands and a bit of time.

❓ What sort of things count towards the 10 hours?
A: Lots of things! Helping with events, being a second adult at training, matchday jobs, washing bibs, welcoming new families… We'll share a full list soon, most contributions take less time than you'd think.

❓ What if my family already receives support with membership fees through the participation policy?
A:Families who benefit from reduced fees under our Participation Policy won’t be expected to contribute through the MCP in addition, unless they choose to.

We know every family’s circumstances are different. If you're already receiving support, you’ve done exactly what we want you to do, stayed part of the club. That’s the priority.

If you’d like to get involved by giving time, that’s always welcome, and there’s no obligation at all. Just keep playing, and stay part of the community.
