Join the team that keeps everything running.
Our club doesn’t run on its own. Behind every training session, match day, and awards evening is a group of people giving their time. Some are coaches or umpires, others are spreadsheet wizards, master organisers, or just the person who always says “yes” when something needs doing.
These are our key roles, the essential roles that keep the junior programme going week in, week out.
We’re now inviting more families to step into these roles — and to become part of the backbone of junior hockey at Sevenoaks.
⚙️ What counts as a key role?
A key role is something that typically involves a regular (often weekly) commitment, or takes responsibility for a specific area of the club’s operations.
These roles vary hugely in what they involve — and many of them don’t need any hockey knowledge at all. Some suit people who love being pitchside. Others are ideal for those who prefer helping behind the scenes.
Here’s a flavour of the kinds of roles we’re talking about:
✅On-pitch & match day roles
❓What’s the commitment?
Each role is a bit different. Some require you to be there most weeks during the season. Others might involve a few hours a month, or some planning time around key events. And often the roles can be shared.
Because these roles often require more time, some may qualify for discounted membership fees (up to 50%), but that's not the main draw. Most people do it because they care about the club and want to make a difference.
➤ Not sure what fits? We’d still love to hear from you
Even if you’re not sure which role is right for you, or whether you have the time, we’d love you to let us know you’re interested. We’ll have more detail on each role later in the summer, but getting your name in early helps us plan and match people to where they’ll enjoy contributing.
