SHC Ladies' Section welcomes you to A Night at the Races!

Come and support your favourite horses and riders, all while raising money for Sevenoaks Hockey Club. Be sure to come dressed for the occasion!

Tickets available to purchase for horses and riders at the bar now.

How does Race Night work?
Each race consists of 8 runners. Unlike traditional horse racing there are no odds
for the runners. People place bets on the runner of their choice and do this by
visiting the bookmaker and buying a ticket. You can bet on more than one horse
in any race and can buy more than one ticket per horse. After everyone has
finished betting the bookmaker closes and then the pay-outs are worked out. The
more popular a horse is the less money will be paid out per ticket if it wins.
Once this is done the race is selected at random from the list and the video is
played. Once the winner is announced the people with those tickets collect their
winnings from the bookies. Then the next race takes place. The winning
horse and rider get a prize for being the owners.
