Girls U14 Squad Take Silver at National Finals!

England Hockey Supra League Finals

The Girls U14 Thunder Squad have enjoyed an outstanding 2025-26 season! Their success began with gold at the UK Indoor Championships in October, followed by qualification for the Supra League in November and a place in the final of the European Club de Polo competition in December. Since Christmas, the team has lost to just one side – a testament to their resilience, determination, and exceptional teamwork in every competitive fixture.

Finishing second in the South East Regional Supra League was a remarkable achievement. In April, the girls secured their return to the Nottingham National Finals with impressive victories over Guildford, Knole Park, Reading, and Wimbledon.

The U14 Tier 1 Supra League National Finals proved to be an emotional and memorable occasion for the squad. With almost half the team making their debut in Nottingham, nerves were understandably high. Despite a shaky start, the girls opened their campaign with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over a fast and talented Trojans side. Growing in confidence with every game, they followed this with strong performances against Brooklands and Beeston to secure their place in the National Final.

Despite carrying five injuries across the squad, the girls showed immense character, battling tirelessly and dominating large periods of the final. Ultimately, a quick breakaway goal gave Surbiton the edge. It was a game played with tenacity, sportsmanship, and friendship – qualities that greatly impressed the England Hockey officials.

The entire squad should be enormously proud of everything they have achieved this season. Their commitment, spirit, and support for one another have been exceptional throughout.

A huge thank you goes to coaches Orlagh and Mark, manager Leah, and all the officials, families, and supporters who have backed the team every step of the way this season.
