Following on from a great performance last week, this week Sevenoaks travelled to play against Barnes. The game started strong, with Sevenoaks dominating the pitch putting Barnes defenders under pressure. Sevenoaks showcased some excellent link up play between lines, which lead to a series of quick attacking breaks. It wasn’t long before a well-timed deflection from Mackenzie Bell on a short corner, off of Susie Rowe’s slider put Sevenoaks 1-0 up. Not long after, a quick counter attack from Barnes earned them a goal, evening out the score line going into halftime.
As the game continued, Sevenoaks’ composure pressurised Barnes, and the game was tight. Excellent leads and connections earned Sevenoaks some attacking opportunities, whilst the defensive line were continuously solid. Unfortunately, another sudden break gained Barnes the lead as they scored their second of the game. Sevenoaks pushed hard and continued to remain composed and accurate in their play, but despite their best attempt to pull back an equaliser, the game ended 2-1 to Barnes. Despite the result, Sevenoaks played some excellent hockey which will be taken into next week as they play ISCA at home.
