v Old Loughts

The Sevenoaks ladies 2s welcomed Old Loughtonians on a frosty Saturday morning. We welcomed Tilly Fox and Megan James to our team this week. We started strong, pressing intensely and their goal keeper was called into action right away. With multiple chances we were unable to capitalise, with the Old Loughts keeper making several saves. Near the end of the first half we conceived a short corner and unfortunately they had a well worked corner resulting in a deflection which our keeper was unable to keep out. We kept positive and dominated the second half, yet were unable to get the ball into the back of the net, despite a number of opportunities. Our captain, Cath Scorey, pushed up to our forward line to inject some pace. We dominated the last fifteen minutes with several short corners awarded but were unlucky to not be rewarded for all our possession. However, Old Loughts defended well and focused on their defence by changing their press. Our man of the match was Jacquie Ward.
