Matches at Surbiton

In the morning session against Surbiton and Old Georgians we had some brilliant results (won 3-0, 10-0, 4-0). The girls played really nicely in terms of energy levels, dribbling, passing, not letting opposition have time on the ball and working together. Tessa had 7 goals, Anna 4, Maisie 3, Neve 2 and Olivia 1. Issy played nicely in goal and Niamh solid in defence (both earning their clean sheet bonuses!). All girls did well though, with it being a great and balanced team effort (all taking their turns in less familiar positions) and will have been a nice confidence booster for the team.

In the afternoon session away at Surbiton there were two very strong Surbiton teams and one from Old Georgians. Although we lost all three games the team played some excellent hockey and it will have been a great learning experience against some talented and very well drilled opposition. Some great keeping, lots of brave defending, energetic and determined midfielders and hard working forwards kept the games close with just some key moments seeing the opposition prevail. The communication and trust of one another grew throughout the day and will hold the team in good stead for the challenges ahead.
