In the second game of the weekend Oaks faced Wimbledon in what was on paper a must win game if they were to stand any chance of making the top four. In a tight first period, Wimbledon took the lead after six minutes before James Thomas scored to draw Oaks level at 1-1. Just before the end of the first quarter Wimbledon scored a penalty corner to take a 2-1 lead. From there on in, Oaks were completely dominant, and controlled the game. Sam George and David Smith added a goal apiece in the second quarter giving Oaks a 3-2 lead at the halfway point. After the break Oaks increased their lead when Ian Haley scored just before the end of the third quarter and Nick Barker made it 5-2 midway through the final quarter. Wimbledon were awarded a penalty stroke with 3 minutes remaining and gave them a glimmer of hope, but the excellent Richard Potton tipped the effort round the post and Oaks ended 5-2 winners.
