6. Finance Help Required


Help us build our Finance Team

This is an exciting opportunity to get involved behind the scenes at Sevenoaks Hockey Club and to help the club deliver its #OneClub strategy.

With the creation of #OneClub we are re-defining our finance function and are looking for a number of people to help with the financial administration of the club. These roles will work alongside the existing treasurer roles. By splitting off some of the current responsibilities into a number of different ‘smaller’ roles, we hope that more people might feel they are able to get involved. We are particularly looking for people who can help with the following

Coach Timesheet Processing
Every month or half term, our coaches and young leaders submit timesheets/invoices for the hours they have spent coaching within the club. These need to be logged as invoices in the book-keeping software, so that payment can be made. This task occurs once a month (at most) and involves sending email reminders through the club’s email system and making the book-keeping entries. Making payments is not part of the requirement. Approximately 12 per month on average

Purchase Invoices
Throughout the month, the club receives invoices from various suppliers, equipment, pitch hire, tournament entry fees. These need to be verified and processed in the book-keeping software. Volumes are roughly 20 invoices each month. Making payments is not part of the requirement.

Sales Invoices
The Club provides a number of additional services such as holiday camps, back to hockey, and mid-week training which are managed through Eventbrite. Sales invoices for these need to be raised – these are typically a termly or half-termly activity. No payment chasing is generally required as the funds are transferred automatically via Eventbrite.

Accounting for membership fees
Throughout the season (July/August to March) we have new members joining. This is handled by our membership team. Payments are collecting by direct debit. Records for the membership income are created monthly and the payments received allocated.

For all the above roles, previous finance experience is desirable and training in the use of the club's systems will be provided.
